Happy 207th Birthday, Honorary Aunt Eliza R. Snow (1804-1887)!

Eliza(s) R  Snow(y)  DUP Museum
I tried to have my first child on my due date of January 21 so we could name her Eliza after several ancestors as well as this strong LDS woman.  Jumping on a trampoline in the snow only gave me a cold, and our own Eliza wasn't born until a day later. (Since we didn't know what gender child we were having, Matt had joked that our boy might be happy to share a birthday with ERS but would also be fine with his own.)  Grandpa Cramer called our baby "Eliza R. Cute."

Since Eliza R. Snow has no descendants, we venture to claim her as an honorary ancestor, and marvel that our own girl bears some strong resemblances and is also a poetess in Zion.

  1. I love sharing a name with Eliza R. Snow. She was such a remarkable lady! Her poetry is incredible and her strength was outstanding. If I could get even close to her talent it would be amazing.

  2. Eliza, I agree with Grandpa Cramer (a brilliant, dashing and well-spoken man) that "Our" Eliza R. Cute. Don't sell yourself short - your young talents are already fabulous and yet will yet surpass the venerable namesake at the rate you are going. Keep it up.

ERS deserves a picture of ERCute.

  3. Trampoline? ERCW, don't you wish you had a video of that? ACW, does that video exist? Post it!

  4. Strong name for two strong and amazing women (14 counts as a woman now right?)
Glad you were born on the 22nd though, now you can share with Julian!
